Second signature settings

Second signature settings help improve safety and compliance when giving medication. They let you choose when a second user must enter their username and password to confirm a task linked to an order type. This adds an extra layer of security for controlled drugs or other sensitive medication processes.

To set up and configure second signature functionality, follow these steps:

  1. Click Admin, then click Settings.

  2. Click Care Home Settings.

  3. Click Medication round Customization.

  4. In the Second Signature section, select the appropriate checkboxes:

    • Enable second signature during Medication round: Turns on the second signature function.

    • For Controlled Meds Only: Require second signature only for orders marked as controlled drug.

    • All Meds: Require second signature for all orders.

    • Only when specified at the Orders screen: Require second signature only when flagged on the Orders screen.

    πŸ€“ Tip: For those only specified at the Orders screen, this can be checked on the Everything tab too. If the option is selected, it means the second signature option is enabled.

  5. Click Save.
