Inventory tracking settings

In this article, we explain how to find and adjust the inventory settings and detail what each option does.

Inventory tracking helps you manage medication stock and related settings for your care home. This section lets you configure options that affect how inventory works across the main features of the application.

To find and manage the inventory settings, follow these steps:

  1. Click Admin, then click Settings.

  2. Select Care Home Settings, then click Inventory.

  3. Make any necessary changes to the inventory settings.

  4. Click Save.


Inventory settings explained

Use the table to find out more information about each inventory setting and what they do.

Turn on / Turn off

Enables inventory tracking. If turned off, all other options are disabled.

Track meds taken from emergency supply

Lets users use the E-box stock option so meds can be given when stock levels are zero or below.

Require witness when receiving controlled substances

Requires a second user to enter credentials when adding controlled medication stock.

Allow users to receive meds during order approval

Lets medication orders be administered during order approval.

Enable homely remedy inventory

Enables inventory tracking for homely remedies.

Display current stock on medication tile

Shows current stock on each medication tile during med rounds.

Customise stock check

Select this to enable advanced stock check settings below.

Show system count after

Sets how many failed stock check attempts before showing system count.

Require note for quick adjust

Requires a note for each medication order before saving adjustments.

Hide system inventory totals from

Hides inventory totals for selected user roles by default.

Exclude non-controlled items from stock check and confirmation prompt

Uses stock confirmation prompt only for controlled items.

By default, track inventory on all medication orders

Tracks inventory on all orders by default.

Advanced stock check

Lets users include and exclude certain residents, plus controlled and non-controlled items in stock checks.

Include discontinued meds in stock check if inventory is greater than zero

Includes discontinued meds in stock check if quantity is greater than zero.

Stop showing after X days, regardless of inventory value

Sets how long discontinued meds show in stock check.

Continue to show discharged residents in stock check post discharge

Shows discharged residents in stock check for a set number of days.

Customise Drug Disposal

Select this to enable drug disposal settings below.

Show orders discontinued in the past

Displays discontinued orders on drug disposal for a set number of days.

Prompt for Drug Disposal on discontinued orders

Automatically prompts drug disposal for discontinued orders.
