Add homely remedies

In this article, we explain how to add new homely remedies, edit existing ones and add inventory for them.

Access Medication Management allows you to add approved homely remedies for administration. These over-the-counter medicines are used for short-term management of minor conditions such as headaches, colds, coughs, mild diarrhoea, and occasional pain.

⚠️ Important: Homely remedies can only be deleted immediately after they are created. Once they are used or placed in inventory, they can’t be deleted, they can only be disposed of.

To add homely remedies, follow these steps:

  1. Click Admin, then click Settings.

  2. Click Orders Library.

  3. Click Homely Remedies within the categories list.

    📌 Note: If Homely Remedies doesn’t appear as a category, click Add to create it.

  4. To add a new homely remedy, click Medication.

    • A blank new order page loads for you to populate.

    • Populate the new order as if you were adding a normal PRN order.

  5. Add a title and select the Homely Remedy checkbox.

  6. Fill in the appropriate order fields.

  7. Click Save.


Add inventory for homely remedies

Before adding stock, ensure inventory tracking is enabled for the remedy.

Once you've checked this, follow the steps to add inventory:

  1. Click Inventory, then click Homely Remedy Inventory.

  2. Click Interim Check In, then select the source.

  3. Enter the received quantity and click Save.


Edit an existing homely remedy

To edit an existing homely remedy, follow these steps:

  • Select the homely remedy from the list.

  • Update the details as needed.

  • Click Save.
