MedRound is used to record all medication administrations in your facility. If a medication isn’t given, you can select an exception code and add a note to explain why.

To record an administration correctly, follow these steps:

  1. Click Medication round and use the drop-down to select the round time.

  2. Click the resident to complete medicine administration.

    • Residents with black and white photos have either no scheduled medication due or their medication administration is complete for this round.

    • Their medication administration screen can still be accessed for recording PRN items.

  3. Review the resident’s profile: Diagnosis, Allergies, Information, and Medication Orders.

  4. Identify and prepare the medication in line with your local policies and procedures.

  5. Click the medication tile to select it. A green tick appears as confirmation.

  6. Repeat step 5 for all scheduled and PRN items required.

  7. After the medication has been taken or refused/withheld, click Next.

  8. On the Review/Recording Screen, review all information. For each item, use the drop-down to select any exceptions that apply.

  9. Complete all required details: Vital Signs, Quantities, Reasons for administration, Follow-up times, etc.

  10. Once all information is accurate, click Record All.

    • If any details are missing or the medication is given outside normal time ranges, the system prompts for a note and won’t allow you to proceed.

  11. If Show Stock Balance is enabled, confirm or amend the stock balance to match the inventory.

    • Failing this creates a task that appears as a medtile.

  12. The system prompts for final confirmation of the resident’s MedRound. If you’re satisfied, click OK.

    • Once confirmed, this record can only be edited by a system administrator.

  13. The Resident Selection screen appears again. If all scheduled medications have been recorded, the resident’s photo displays in black and white.
