Itβs essential that all medication orders appear correctly on the medication round to ensure residents receive the right medications at the right time. Missing orders can lead to delays, errors, or gaps in care, which can compromise safety and compliance.
There are several reasons why a medication order might not show on a med round.
Medication has been discontinued
If a medication has been discontinued, it doesn't show on the med round.
To enable a discontinued medication, follow these steps:
Click Resident/Orders.
Find the resident and click Medication Orders.
Click Orders, then select All Cycles.
Click Show Discontinued Orders.
Locate the discontinued order and select it.
On the End Date, click the blue pencil
icon, then click Save.
Medication pending for review
If a medication is pending review, it doesn't appear on the med round until approved.
To review the medication, follow these steps:

Click Resident/Orders.
Find the resident.
Check for any green flag medications, which indicate they are pending review.
Approve the medication so it appears on the med round.
Incorrect start date or time
If the medication schedule has an incorrect start date or time, it doesn't appear on the med round.
When scheduling medication:
Ensure the start date and time are correct.
For medications scheduled every X days, confirm the start date and time match the intended schedule.
