Setting a maximum dosage within 24 hours helps keep residents safe by stopping them from taking too much medication. This feature adds an extra layer of control when giving PRN medication.
To set up a maximum dosage within 24 hours, follow these steps:
Create a PRN medication order as usual.
Select the Max 24 hour dosage: checkbox.
Enter the number of doses allowed in 24 hours.
Click Save.
Maximum number of doses reached
If you reach the maximum number of doses, a pop-up warning appears telling you that you’re exceeding the limit.
You can choose to:
Click cancel to stop, or click ok to continue.
📌 Note: Before recording the extra administration, you must give a reason before you click ok.
