There may be times where it's useful to merge orders for the same drug together. For example, if you have a manual order you need to merge with a pharmacy order. The merge order feature allows you to do this.

To merge the resident orders, follow these steps:

  1. Click Residents/Orders.

  2. Click on the necessary resident.

  3. Click one of the medications to be merged.

  4. Click the hamburger menu icon.

  5. Click Merge Order.

  6. Select the medication to be merged.

  7. Click Next.

  8. Ensure that the New Schedule Times is accurate.

  9. Click Next.

  10. If you're not happy with the Schedule Time you should amend it immediately after completing the merge.

  11. To confirm the merge, click Finished.

  12. You'll be asked 'What inventory value shall we use?' Click Combine the two values is best practice, but it's important to review the inventory and make any necessary amendments.

  13. To confirm, click OK. An Information dialog appears to confirm the inventory.

  14. Click OK.

Rules that apply

When merging orders together, there are rules that apply dependant on if the selected order is a manual or RX/imported order.

Manual order

If the selected order is a manual order, then it can only be merged with an order that is all of the following:

  • a pharmacy/imported order that has an RX code.

  • still active.

  • started within the last 14 days.

RX/Imported order

If the selected order is an RX/Imported order, it can be merged with an order that is:

  • Manually entered.

  • started within the last 14 days.

    OR

  • If the selected order was discontinued, it can be merged with an active pharmacy/imported order.

  • If the selected order is active, it can be merged with a discontinued pharmacy/imported order.
