Sometimes a resident may leave the facility for a short period, such as a holiday or hospital visit. The system doesnโt have a specific feature to group medication or put a hold on inventory, but you can manage this by using the suspend/hold option and updating details when the resident returns. This helps avoid missed doses and ensures accurate inventory.
Residents with a known return date
For residents with a known return date, make sure the returned on date and time are correct when the resident is re-admitted to the facility.
Use the suspend/hold feature
For residents without a known return date, follow these steps:
Click Residents/Orders, then click on the resident.
Click Profile and set Status to Out Of Facility.
Click Orders and click on the medication.
Click Suspend/Hold and fill in the following:
Temporary hold start date and time.
Resume giving the drug date and time. If the return date is unknown, enter an approximate future date.
Click All Resident Orders to select all medications.
Enter a note if needed.
Click Save.
Once the resident returns, perform drug disposal adjustments to correct inventory.
