Sometimes a resident may leave the facility for a short period, such as a holiday or hospital visit. The system doesnโ€™t have a specific feature to group medication or put a hold on inventory, but you can manage this by using the suspend/hold option and updating details when the resident returns. This helps avoid missed doses and ensures accurate inventory.

Residents with a known return date

For residents with a known return date, make sure the returned on date and time are correct when the resident is re-admitted to the facility.

Use the suspend/hold feature

For residents without a known return date, follow these steps:

  1. Click Residents/Orders, then click on the resident.

  2. Click Profile and set Status to Out Of Facility.

  3. Click Orders and click on the medication.

  4. Click Suspend/Hold and fill in the following:

    • Temporary hold start date and time.

    • Resume giving the drug date and time. If the return date is unknown, enter an approximate future date.

  5. Click All Resident Orders to select all medications.

  6. Enter a note if needed.

  7. Click Save.

Once the resident returns, perform drug disposal adjustments to correct inventory.
